Deloitte Appoints Eric Openshaw to Lead U.S. Technology, Media and Telecommunications Practice
NEW YORK, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte, the largest professional services firm in the U.S., has appointed Eric Openshaw to lead its U.S. Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice. In his new role, Openshaw will drive industry strategy, research, service development and delivery to the organization's core TMT clients. Openshaw succeeds Phil Asmundson, who continues to lead Deloitte's U.S. Media & Entertainment and Telecommunications as well as the Global Telecommunications sectors.
Openshaw was instrumental in the development of Deloitte's Center for the Edge. The Silicon Valley-based research-focused center helps senior executives understand and profit from emerging opportunities on the edge of business and technology.

Since joining Deloitte in 1997, Openshaw has held a number of leadership positions in the consulting practice and technology industry group. He was appointed U.S. Technology sector leader in 2007, and now leads the Global Technology sector and is a member of the Global TMT Leadership Council. Openshaw has more than 30 years of experience in professional services, assisting clients in areas including enterprise transformation, business process reengineering, manufacturing/distribution strategy and technology strategy.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University at Fullerton and also has completed postgraduate work at California Polytechnic University.
