Latimer has worked for the TD Garden since its opening in 1995 and has now assumed the venue's top post as Wentzell continues to shift his focus towards commercial development in Boston and the international business responsibilities he took on for Delaware North Companies in 2011.
"We are very fortunate to have such a seasoned and respected leader as Amy seamlessly taking the reins of our Boston arena business," said John Wentzell, President of Delaware North Companies Boston & Delaware North Companies International. "Over the past six years as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, she's had substantive, far-reaching impacts across our TD Garden and Boston Bruins businesses including key innovations in premium seating and hospitality product development and sales, unique industry-first ticketing and sponsorship strategies and the recent launch of Boston Bruins Digital Entertainment Network (DEN), the highly regarded integrated digital, social and mobile strategy of the team. The TD Garden arena and our clients will be in very capable hands with Amy, as her knowledge and experience in our Boston market and the sports and arena industries are second to none."
Charlie Jacobs, Principal of Delaware North Companies and the Boston Bruins added, "Amy embodies the qualities Delaware North values in our leadership and having seen her work and commitment while based here in Boston, I am particularly pleased with this recognition and promotion."
"This is an exciting new challenge," said Latimer. "TD Garden is already one of the most active, highly regarded and successful venues in the country. It is an honor to manage the home of two of the most prestigious professional sports teams, the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics, as well as a dynamic schedule of concerts and events. Boston has some of the most loyal and dedicated fans and they have come to expect a world class experience when they come to the TD Garden. I'm looking forward to continuing the arena's track record of success, and leading the most talented and innovative team in the business."
In her role as President, Latimer will be responsible for all day-to-day operating functions of the arena and will report to Wentzell as the head of the Delaware North Companies Boston subsidiary. Previously, as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Latimer was responsible for developing and leading all sales and marketing strategies for the Boston Bruins and TD Garden. This included the advertising, corporate partnerships, community relations, ticket sales, and Premium Club sales and service. A recognized leader in the sports & arena industry, she was named one of Sports Business Journal's 'Game Changers' in 2011. Latimer will continue to be a resource to the Boston Bruins given the integrated management structure of the team and arena.
Latimer was part of the inaugural executive team at the TD Garden and started as the Director of Marketing. She went on to launch the arena's e-Business department, harnessing website strategies and database marketing. She served as the Director of e-Business and then Vice President of Ticketing for both the Bruins and arena before assuming her current position.
