Del Webb Grand Opens Second Community In Raleigh-Durham
Carolina Arbors by Del Webb to Host Nearly 1,000 Baby Boomers on Saturday, July 20
Unveils 12 Consumer Inspired Home Designs
DURHAM, N.C., July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Del Webb, the leading builder of active adult communities in the nation, is hosting its public grand opening for its second Del Webb community in the Raleigh-Durham area on Saturday, July 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Carolina Arbors by Del Webb will offer baby boomers the highly sought-after active lifestyle for those ages 55 and better.
Nearly 1,000 baby boomers are expected to attend the event, which will feature beer tastings, food truck rodeo lunch, live beach music, giveaways and model tours of 11 newly fully decorated homes.
According to Matt Goss, vice president of sales for Del Webb in Raleigh-Durham, baby boomers represent more than 16 percent of the Raleigh-Cary-Durham MSA's total population, and are the single-fastest growing segment of the state's population.
"We are seeing a good mix of local Triangle area buyers, as well as boomers from the Midwestern states," said Goss. "Since we began pre-selling earlier this year, about two-thirds are still working and/or are purchasing in pre-retirement. Many of these boomers don't want to delay any further their enjoyment of an active lifestyle. They want to take advantage of all the amenities, programs and activities offered in a Del Webb community."
The weekend of July 20, Carolina Arbors will officially be open for selling. Located in the city of Durham near Brier Creek, off TW Alexander and ACC Boulevard, the community will include approximately 1,275 homes on nearly 460 acres with a much-anticipated, state-of-the-art 30,000-square-foot amenity center.
Consumer Inspired Home Designs
Del Webb is introducing 12 new floor plans at Carolina Arbors that are the result of extensive consumer research and reflect the way boomers truly live in their homes. The innovative consumer inspired designs feature spacious living areas with generous storage spaces, large kitchen islands, raised dishwashers, flexible living spaces to fit a specific buyer's needs, several outdoor living options, loft options, and an option for fixed stairs in the garage to safely access storage.
According to Goss, these new floor plans have been completely redesigned after the company's extensive consumer research and analysis of buyer feedback.
"Several years of research, thought and creativity have gone into the design of these homes to ensure they support what boomers are telling us they want: spaces for personal rejuvenation, social interaction, entertainment, and easy, effortless living," Goss said. "These new home plans represent an exciting, fresh direction in home design, blending the concepts of universal design for ageless living with higher energy efficiency and connectivity."
Potential homebuyers will tour the new sales center and model park, which features 11 designer-decorated homes. The community offers all single-story ranch homes, ranging from 1,109 to 3,469 square feet. Prices start from $198,990.
