Del City and Designs for Hope Give the Gift of Electricity
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., Dec. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Del City has partnered with Designs for Hope, a non-profit organization that provides sustainable energy and clean water in developing countries that lack electricity, to supply the parts for 180 battery kits. These battery kits will power lights, cell phones, radios and other electricity dependent devices. Chris Bond, one of Designs for Hope's founders says, "battery kits are placed on bicycles that harness the energy from daily bicycle riding to charge the battery and in essence provide light to a once dark world. Thanks to partners like Del City, Designs for Hope is able to offer the gift of light and much more to less fortunate communities around the world."

The collaboration involves Del City supplying the organization with its connectors, terminals, shrink tubing and other parts needed to create the battery kits. "Del City is pleased to support this non-profit and the communities who will be positively affected by this effort. As a company that supplies electrical and transportation supplies, donating to an organization that helps provide basic necessities such as electricity is a perfect opportunity to give," said George Dowse, Del City's Business Leader.
