Degree Program From Rocky Mountain College Of Art + Design Teaches A Creative Approach To Business
DENVER, Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts' (CBCA) Economic Activity Study recently reported that Colorado has seen a 5% increase in jobs over the past three years among arts, cultural, and scientific organizations. Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is responding to Colorado's growth and continued commitment to the arts by cultivating creative thinkers through its new Bachelor of Arts degree program—Business for the Creative Industries.
In response to a growing, globally competitive market where businesses seek candidates who can be creative problem solvers, RMCAD's proprietary degree program blends traditional business school coursework with complementary art and design classes. Coursework includes economics, accounting, branding, and digital marketing.
"We're very excited to offer this type of relevant, rigorous coursework to students," said Dr. Ruth Holden, Chair of Business for the Creative Industries at RMCAD. "Current communications and business practices are evolving and requiring that organizations adapt to solve problems creatively and communicate visually. This is the perfect academic response to that need."
All courses are taught by industry professionals who bring authentic insight to the classroom. Through RMCAD's applied learning approach, students are required to demonstrate the skills covered by course material through project work, professional capstone courses, and an internship.
