Defense Technology International Expands Global Coverage With Addition of Two Senior European Editors
NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Defense Technology International (DTI), the cornerstone of Aviation Week's defense portfolio, today announced the appointment of two new senior European editors, Christina Mackenzie and Andy Nativi, as part of its mission to continue expanding print and online coverage of global defense developments. Both Mackenzie and Nativi are highly experienced journalists who have supported DTI since its launch in 2005.
Based in Paris, Senior Editor Christina Mackenzie will focus on France and Spain. A long-time resident of France, Mackenzie has studied in Scotland, the United States and Paris and has written on a wide variety of defense and aerospace topics for both mass-market and specialized media.
Andy Nativi will be DTI's leading editor for central and southern Europe. Based in Genoa, Nativi is editor-in-chief of the Italian-language Rivista Italiana Difesa and has been a contributor to Aviation Week publications since 2002. In the past, he has supported research projects for the Italian ministry of defense and other groups and has lectured at academic institutions in Italy.
These appointments come after the announcement last month that Andrea Prudente is taking on an elevated role as associate publisher, EMEA for DTI. Prudente, formerly defense sales director, EMEA, has a strong track record developing new business and deep customer relationships. He has been instrumental in the overall growth of DTI in EMEA markets, as well as the EMEA growth of Aviation Week's full defense portfolio.
"I am happy to see Andy and Christina take on expanded roles in the publication," said Bill Sweetman, editor-in-chief of DTI. "DTI's reputation rests on its writers and our ability to describe complex issues clearly and concisely, and these two colleagues have set a strong example in that area."
"Aviation Week continues to expand in global markets," said Katie Taplett, publisher of DTI. "We are building off an already successful defense portfolio and ensuring we meet the demands and expectations of audiences worldwide with accurate, timely and in-depth news and analysis."
