Defense Security Service Releases Requirement for Insider Threat Monitoring; ClearForce™ Provides a Contractor-Ready Solution
National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) updated with DoD 5220.22-M; cybersecurity tracking and reporting requirements supported by ClearForce
VIENNA, Va., June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearForce LLC is pleased to announce that its continuous insider risk management application meets the new Defense Security Service (DSS) requirement for implementing a threat information program that gathers, integrates and reports on relevant information indicative of a potential or actual insider threat. Cleared contractors must self-certify compliance with the new requirements by November 18, 2016.
Specifically, Change 2 to DoD 5220.22-M, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) was released on May 18, 2016. The update includes several new cybersecurity tracking and reporting requirements, including the identification of an Insider Threat Program Manager and cybersecurity training for cleared employees.
On May 25, 2016, The Defense Security Service (DSS) released Industrial Security Letter (ISL) 2016-02, "Insider Threat" with guidance for insider threat program implementation.
