Defense Logistics Agency Hosts Subsistence Customer Conference and Food Show
PHILADELPHIA, July 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Representatives from the United States military food logistics community will meet in Anaheim, Calif., at the Subsistence Worldwide Customer Conference and Food Show August 16 and 17.
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain, which provides all U.S. military forces with their food supplies, will host the annual event. The conference is a venue where military food professionals gather to share knowledge and learn about best practices in support of feeding U.S. military forces worldwide.
The event will be held at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel and Anaheim Convention Center where more than 200 industry partners will collectively exhibit. Attendees will be able to sample a variety of cuisine typically served to U.S. service members on a daily basis, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Participants will also be able to sample the range of food routinely served on the battlefield as well as in dining facilities. This year's agenda provides an opportunity to hear presentations and updates from DLA Headquarters and DLA Troop Support leaders, service commands and guest speakers on subsistence support around the world.
The conference will also provide military food service professionals the opportunity to receive training through workshops and gain valuable lessons from subject-matter experts from DLA, the military services, and industry. Visit http://www.dscp.dla.mil/subs/conf2011/index.asp for more information.
