Defense Business Transformation Agency (BTA) Awards $75 Million Contract to SAIC
Company to Provide Technical Services to Help BTA Share and Leverage Information
MCLEAN, Va., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a prime contract in support of the Defense Business Transformation Agency (BTA) to provide technical support to the Enterprise Planning & Investment (EP&I) Directorate. The contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total value of more than $75 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Arlington, Va.
The EP&I Directorate provides enterprise-wide products and services that give Department of Defense (DoD) leaders the insight and information they need to lead successful business transformation efforts. Under the contract, SAIC will provide technical services in support of the directorate's Integrated Management Information Environment (IMIE). The IMIE virtually integrates information from authoritative sources to provide data visibility, transparency and decision support for business capabilities. It enables users to develop customized reports, views and dashboards, and also reduces manual processes and creates opportunities to improve speed and quality of business processes and decision support. SAIC will also deliver solutions to EP&I in areas including document management; online analytical processing; modeling and simulation; workflow and collaboration; and information acquisition and storage.
"IMIE will enable BTA to share and leverage existing information, while presenting it in new ways, fostering enhanced levels of insight and efficiency," said Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We look forward to supporting this important customer as they continue to develop and deploy products that support better business operations across the DoD enterprise."
