Deere to realign leadership responsibilities
MOLINE, Ill., Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Deere & Company (NYSE: DE) today announced realignment of responsibilities for some members of its leadership team in response to the planned retirement of a member of senior management.
Jean Gilles has elected to retire after 38 years of distinguished service, effective January 11th. Gilles is senior vice president of power systems, worldwide parts services, advanced technology and engineering, and global supply management and logistics.
"Jean had nearly four decades of accomplishments with Deere that was capped off by his leadership of the John Deere Power Systems group through the lengthy journey of meeting tighter engine emissions standards while also developing a broader, more powerful, and more efficient line of engines," said Samuel R. Allen, chairman and CEO.
The following changes are taking place due to Gilles' retirement:
- Jim Field, president of the Construction & Forestry division, will assume additional responsibility for the John Deere Power Systems organization.
- Marc Howze, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, will assume additional responsibility for global supply management and logistics, worldwide parts services, and aviation.
- Mary Jones, senior vice president and general counsel, will assume responsibility for worldwide public affairs.
- Mark von Pentz, a president of Deere's Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division will assume additional responsibility for advanced technology and engineering.
