Deep Core Data Receives Nomination for SBANE Innovation Award
WALTHAM, Mass., March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Deep Core Data, LLC, a Waltham-based IT and data services firm, has been nominated for the 2017 SBANE New England Innovation Award. The award, established in 1986 by the Smaller Business Association of New England, is presented to companies in the New England area that have proven and marked success with a pioneering product, service, or other innovation in their industry. Over 200 companies participate annually, from which 20 finalists are selected for advancement. Of the finalists, 8 top winners will be selected for one of three categories: For-profit, Non-profit, and Rising Stars. Past winners include well-known companies such as Ben & Jerry's, Genzyme, and iRobot.
The innovation that Deep Core Data aims to bring to this year's competition is not a product, but rather a revolutionary new program that they have undertaken, called the Ethical Tech Pledge. This pledge is a set of five guiding principles upon which they, and other IT businesses all around the Greater Boston Area, can hold themselves to when interacting with customers.
The core philosophy of the Ethical Tech movement is that technology and business are intertwined, and in order for companies to excel in the current landscape, they must form long-lasting, trustworthy, and respectful relationships with technology vendors and partners. The Ethical Tech Pledge also includes provisions for businesses that seek to interact with new IT providers, to create a feeling of mutual trust and accountability.
The program has already caught on in local circles via grassroots outreach, and the company plans to expand to the Greater Boston Area. "Boston is the perfect area to try and establish a movement like this," says Rhiannon Chiacchiaro, Marketing Director for Deep Core Data. "We thrive on collaboration and unique business philosophies. It's unlike almost anywhere else I've seen." She and the rest of the company hope that eventually the pledge will become a standard for how businesses, regardless of industry, will begin to interact with their clients and vendors.
More information on the pledge can be found at www.deepcoredata.com/ethical-tech-pledge.
Judging for nominees takes place on March 28, 2017 with the finalists announced at a presentation event in mid-April. The final awards will be presented on May 11, 2017.
