Declara And American Red Cross Of The Silicon Valley Join Forces To Support Silicon Valley Gives Fundraiser On May 5
American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley taps Declara's social knowledge engine to benefit Silicon Valley Gives "Day of Giving"
PALO ALTO, Calif., May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Declara today is announcing that its social knowledge engine is the handpicked platform of the American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley for connecting donors, volunteers, Red Cross staff, and the general public for the May 5 Silicon Valley Gives "Day of Giving" online fundraiser. The Silicon Valley Gives campaign will raise money for local nonprofits, such as the Red Cross, through a single 24-hour online donation drive.
"American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley is excited to partner with Declara," said Quinn H. Tran, CEO of American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley. "Through Declara's social knowledge platform, the public can also powerfully – and directly – engage with the Red Cross mission and humanitarian services."
Last year, the Silicon Valley Gives fundraising drive collected more than $8 million from nearly 15,000 individual donors benefiting more than 600 nonprofit organizations in three counties in the region. SV Gives provides an easy way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourages them to take action.
Declara is delivering a simple, potent way for the Red Cross to build knowledge collections and insights from articles, posts and videos; and share with peers. The Declara social knowledge engine uses proprietary algorithms to surface pockets of expertise and subjects of interest to users before delivering them as personally recommended content.
"We're thrilled to have American Red Cross of the Silicon Valley team up with Declara to help in its fundraising drive," said Declara CEO Ramona Pierson. "Whether providing disaster relief, preparing for possible emergencies, or promoting fire prevention in our drought-stricken state, the Red Cross is an invaluable part of the community that we're eager to partner with."
