DECISIVE ANALYTICS Recently Awarded Multiple Office Of Naval Research Contracts
ARLINGTON, Va., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DECISIVE ANALYTICS Corporation's Analytical Technologies division was recently notified of their status of successful offeror of three Navy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) proposals.
The Machine Learning division won two contracts: a Phase 1 STTR proposal with the subject "SAMURI" and a Phase 2 SBIR proposal with the subject "DVICE".
The first proposed plan is concentrated on the development of a system called Situational Awareness via Mixed-initiative Universal Recognition, Analysis, and Inference (SAMURAI), which will provide a single cloud-enabled end-to-end workflow. SAMURAI will use automated processing as well as allowance of manual corrections to improve the statistical models used in the automated processes. In addition, , prediction algorithms will have the ability to be updated according to analyst feedback. The proposed solution has several benefits: reduction of error, establishment of complex data relationships, and ability to operate on multi-modal datasets of virtually unlimited size.
The second proposes a system called Discovering Valued Information in a Cloud Environment (DVICE). This system will provide a framework to correlate, fuse, and exploit key observations which have been extracted from distributed data sources in order to provide a consolidated and correlated knowledge product. The benefit of this system is providing Warfighters with the information needed to monitor at risk individuals and groups in combating terrorism.
The Analytic Products division won a Phase 2 SBIR contract with the subject "AGILE", or Author and Group Insight through Linguistic Expression, which will use semantic text analysis techniques to perform automated, large-scale authorship analysis. This project will demonstrate DECISIVE ANALYLTICS Corporation's authorship analysis capabilities on large datasets, introduce work in emotion and sentiment analysis, and expand DECISIVE ANALYTICS Corporation's core Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms to the Arabic language.
"This is a great win for us since it will give us the opportunity to push this research further and break new ground in developing tools for authorship analysis and sentiment/emotion detection," said Jennifer Carlson, AGILE Project Manager.
DECISIVE ANALYTICS Corporation congratulates Project Managers Jonathan Clausen, Jon Day, and Jennifer Carlson for their successful proposal submissions to the Navy SBIR/STTR program.
