DecisionDesk: Decide And Conquer
Startup Now The Largest Network For Performing Arts In The World.
LAKEWOOD, Ohio, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DecisionDesk, a software service company that enables organizations to better evaluate talent by helping them accept and review multimedia-rich submissions, is conquering the world of performing arts by raising $2 million in capital and landing a contract with the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) making it the largest and most-trusted network for performing arts in the world.
Located in Geneva, Switzerland, the WFIMC maintains a network of over 120 internationally recognized organizations dedicated to discovering the most promising talents in classical and jazz music through public competitions. Now, instead of mailing piles of audition materials all over the world, or traveling the globe to compete in person, contestants can simply upload their audition videos once and submit them to any WFIMC organization, or any of the 100 other higher education clients DecisionDesk currently serves (including 17 of the top 30 US Music Schools) with the click of a button. Applicants will now have access to a greater pool of opportunities, regardless of where they come from.
In addition to their acquisition of the WFIMC contract, DecisionDesk recently succeeded in raising $2 million in capital. With the help of the North Coast Angel Fund and select investors from the Midwest and New York City areas, the DecisionDesk team was able to quickly close out a $1.25 million-dollar round of fundraising. Furthermore, the state of Ohio has officially backed DecisionDesk by selecting them to receive The Innovation Ohio Fund Loan, netting the company an additional $750,000.
"We've quickly become the leading provider of online audition management and are rapidly expanding as an enterprise provider for higher education institutions," said John Knific, CEO of DecisionDesk. "We're in this to save organizations thousands of wasted hours and dollars, help clients attract phenomenal talent, and create an awesome application experience for students."
According to Knific, the reasons so many people choose DecisionDesk over the competition are simple, but numerous. As Glen Kwok, President of the WFIMC commented, "The streamlined application process will be transformative for our members and the thousands of applicants who apply to the competitions each year. The WFIMC is proud to be able to partner with DecisionDesk to offer our members the latest in audition technology. "
