Decision Sciences Awarded $400,000 U.S. Defense Department Contract for Explosives Detection Technology
Testing Innovative Security Solutions for the Defense Department's Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office
CHANTILLY, Va., Aug. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Decision Sciences International, an advanced technology provider of security and detection systems, today announced it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) to test muon tomography based scanning systems capable of detecting explosives. The contract has an estimated value of $400,000 over eight months.

Under the contract, the DoD's CTTSO will evaluate Decision Sciences' passive scanning technology which uses naturally occurring cosmic ray muons to detect potential threats in cargo, vehicles and other conveyances.
