"In extreme weather conditions, high wind can cause window failure that leads to devastating consequences, from water damage to structural failure as pressure on the roof amplifies," said Filip Geeraert, president and CEO of Deceuninck North America. "Our stylish new Impact Windows are engineered to help minimize these risks by meeting coastal building code requirements."
Impact Windows by Deceuninck include single hung, single slider and picture window styles, and meet requirements up to and including the specifications of ASTM E 1886/1996, Wind Zone 4 or Miami Dade 201, 202, 203 with an AAMA DP rating of up to 70. The products' glazing orientations accommodate various glazing options (including low E and turtle glass) in impact, insulated glass units up to 1 1/8 inch. Three-quarter-inch balance pockets provide room for hardware to accommodate heavy glass packages.
Deceuninck will also highlight the recent success of its Innergy™ Rigid Thermal Reinforcements and Revolution Tilt & Turn™ window during IBS.
"Both of these innovative products recently hit the market and are gaining traction in the industry. Our recent advancements offer elegant design without sacrificing functionality, sustainability or thermal performance," said Geeraert. "We look forward to introducing both Innergy and Revolution to a broad audience of building professionals."
Developed as a better-performing alternative to aluminum reinforcements for PVC windows and door profiles, Innergy contains 20 percent bio-based resins. Deceuninck and Bayer MaterialScience LLC worked closely to develop a custom polyurethane composite system and production process that would enable Innergy to deliver unique performance characteristics.
Innergy offers superior thermal performance, which helps manufacturers achieve improved energy efficiency ratings. It is virtually impermeable to cold or heat and is extremely resistant to condensation, which prevents staining that can occur with metal reinforcements.
Revolution Tilt & Turn has a seven-chamber thermal structure along with Innergy Rigid Thermal Reinforcements and multifunctional operability in a window that has the capability of achieving an R-value of 7+. Revolution is also designed for a DP-95 rating. The window is designed with a euro-influenced posture. It has minimal frame and sash sightlines and features maximum daylight area to take full advantage of today's high-performance glass technologies.
All three products will be on display during IBS at a unique off-site hospitality event called "gallery d by deceuninck" at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Baterby's Art Auction Gallery (9101 International Drive, Orlando). At the event, current and prospective customers, industry partners, vendors, members of the media and other key stakeholders will be able to view Deceuninck's latest products and innovations in a gallery-like setting.
The invitation-only event will also feature representations of the works of famous artists who have incorporated windows into their paintings. Attendees will have access to key Deceuninck stakeholders, including Geeraert.
