"With confidence and optimism, we are proud to introduce Filip Geeraert as the head of our North American operations," said Tom Debusschere, CEO of Deceuninck Group, the parent company of Deceuninck North America. "Geeraert has been an integral part of Deceuninck North America for the past ten years, and during that time, he has played a key role in all of company's important ventures. He has first-hand knowledge of our operations, our market position, our customers, and our strengths. He knows our people and our culture, and he is the perfect person to continue the tradition of success that we have come to expect."
In his previous role with Deceuninck North America, Geeraert developed and executed all financial management functions for the company, including accounting, business analysis and cash flow management. He also played a key role in transactions that included the acquisitions of Vinyl Building Products, Inc. and Dayton Technologies, LLC. In addition, he implemented business strategies that enabled Deceuninck's customers to remain profitable, even in challenging economic times. Geeraert is a member of the company's board of directors and will retain that position as he assumes the role of CEO.
Before his role as CFO, Geeraert served as corporate controller for the Deceuninck Group in Belgium. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles for Bekaert that included director of logistics. Geeraert has a master's degree in information technology from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium; a master's degree in accountancy from Catholic University of Antwerp, Belgium; and a bachelor's degree in applied economics from Catholic University of Antwerp, Belgium.
"It is an honor and a privilege to assume the role of CEO at Deceuninck North America," Geeraert added. "We have successfully weathered both the economic downturn and the related challenges in the building and construction sector, enabling us to transform 2010 into a year of stability and profitability. Deceuninck's ongoing commitment to design, innovation and sustainability place it in an enviable position to achieve new heights in the months and years to come, and I am delighted to be leading the charge."
Mark Parrish, who served the company as CEO since 2005, is departing to assume the role of CEO at Stuart Dean, an international provider of fine architectural restoration and surface preservation.
"Mark Parrish has served Deceuninck North America with passion and with a commitment to excellence," Debusschere said. "His steady hand, his business acumen, and his highly developed skills at forming relationships enabled him to shepherd the company through very challenging times of market changes and dramatic shifts in the economy. We wish him nothing but success as he takes on a new role."
