Analyst Update: Strategic Collaboration, Merger Speculations, Divestment, Stake Increase and New Contract

The U.S. stock market extended its winning streak on Thursday, recording its best two-day gains in last three years. The rally in U.S. started on Wednesday after Federal Reserve's Chairwoman Janet Yellen assured the markets that the central bank would be patient about lifting interest rate. The S&P 500 advanced 2.43%, Dow Jones Industrial Average moved up 2.40%, and Nasdaq Composite ended the session 2.24% up. The European stocks also surged, recording their strongest daily gain in three years, supported by a rise in Greek shares. The rebound in oil prices, dovish statement of Federal Reserve and calmness in Russian market also boosted European markets. Most Asian stock markets ended higher as investors were encouraged to take more risk following the positive stimulus led by the U.S. Federal Reserve statement.
U.S. based Xencor, Inc. (Xencor) said on Thursday that it has entered into licensing agreement with Denmark-based Novo Nordisk to jointly discover novel biologic drug candidates using Xencor's XmAb bispecific and immune inhibitor technologies. Xencor is eligible to receive up to $175 million in upfront payments, regulatory and sales milestones. ADRs of the French telecommunications equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent SA (Alcatel-Lucent) jumped over 8% on Thursday after a German magazine reported that the Company has revived its merger talks with Finnish networks and location services giant Nokia. The two companies restarted talks this autumn, said the Germany's Manager Magazin, citing company sources. Xerox Corp. (Xerox) has agreed to sell its Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) business to French IT services firm Atos for $1.05 billion. Shares of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc.
