Deaf Students to 'Lunch and Learn' at Cici's Pizza in Cherry Hill
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- About 20 deaf or hard of hearing middle school students from The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) in Germantown, Philadelphia, will learn outside the classroom and enjoy a pizza lunch to boot. On Wednesday, February 23, (tomorrow) at 10 am the students will visit Cici's Pizza Restaurant, 818 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ.
Once there the students, their teachers and interpreters will meet a Cici's Pizza expert who will give them a tour of the store/restaurant. Highlights include:
- learning about restaurant and cooking sanitation and safety,
- making their own individual pizzas while applying various mathematics principles (measurements, problem-solving, multiplication, fractions), and,
- EATING their pizzas afterwards.
