Deadline for 2011 Golden Quill Awards Quickly Approaching

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Less than a week remains to enter The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's 47th Golden Quill Awards, the annual competition that recognizes professional excellence in written, photographic, broadcast and online journalism in Western Pennsylvania.

The entry deadline for the premier journalism contest is 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2011. All entries must have been published or broadcast between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, to be eligible.

This year, entries to the Golden Quill Awards will be submitted using a web-based program at www.betterbnc.com.

Rules and instructions for submission for the awards -- open to all news professionals in 29 counties of Western Pennsylvania -- can be downloaded from The Press Club's website at http://www.westernpapressclub.org or received in hard copy by contacting The Press Club at 412-281-7778 or by sending e-mail to [email protected]

Winners of the Golden Quills will be announced during the awards ceremony on Monday, May 9, 2011, at the Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh.
