DCS Corp Receives Cogswell Award for Outstanding Security Achievement

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- DCS Corp announced that the company has won the 2012 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award for excellence in security practices at DCS's Alexandria, VA facility. The award was presented to Terri Weadon, Director of Security, and Bill Reuter, Chief Administrative Officer, at the annual National Classification Management Society training seminar on June 13, 2012 in Orlando, FL.

The Cogswell Award is awarded by the Defense Security Service. The award was established in 1966, and is named in honor of the late Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security within the Department of Defense. Cogswell was responsible for developing the basic principles of the Industrial Security Program, which include an emphasis on the partnership between industry and government to protect classified information. This partnership ultimately ensures the greatest protection for the U.S. warfighter and our Nation's classified information.

"Of the 13,300 defense contractor facilities subject to DSS assessment, DCS is one of just 26 recipients of the award this year," said Dave Russell, President and Chief Operating Officer. This is the fifth time that DCS has earned the Cogswell Award. The Alexandria, VA office was also recognized in 1995 and 1999. DCS's Lexington Park, MD facility received the award in 1996 and 2007.
