"Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos" Book Tour Heads to New Orleans for Its Next Stop on Sold-Out Multi-City Tour
"DAYS OF OUR LIVES" CAST AND AUTHORS TO VISIT NEW ORLEANS TO SEE DEVASTATION FIRST HAND AND REBUILD WITH ST. BERNARD PROJECT
LOS ANGELES, March 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cast members of NBC's longest-running scripted television show, "Days of our Lives," will be stopping in New Orleans this week during the next leg of their extensively successful book tour for "Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos," authored by Executive in Charge of Production Greg Meng and Hollywood art director Eddie Campbell.
New Orleans follows a successful stop in the small town of Suwanee outside Atlanta, GA where 2,500 people lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of and meet their favorite cast members. This is just the next visit on the multi-city book tour that started in Los Angeles and has continued to New York, Houston, Miami, Detroit and most recently Chicago, where over 1,500 fans lined up at the annual Flower & Garden Show for two days straight.
The New Orleans visit will pair the show with St. Bernard Project, a non-profit established in March 2006 to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The group will visit communities devastated by Katrina and will assist in building a family a home. Executive in Charge of Production Greg Meng expressed thoughts on the upcoming visit that, "People have been inviting us into their living rooms for decades and we believe the living room to be a pivotal place in every family. We believe every family should have a living room and we want to help families in need get back into theirs." In addition, cast and authors will be paying a visit to a VA clinic since the Veteran's Hospital was destroyed during Katrina and is currently being rebuilt, headed by cast member James Reynolds ("Abe"), a former Marine who acts as the official spokesperson to VA Hospitals across the country and made it to the Houston, Atlanta, and New Orleans stops.
Fans will be able to bid on the opportunity to build alongside the cast and authors by logging onto:

"Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos," co-authored by Meng and Hollywood art director Eddie Campbell, is a rare glimpse of over 500 behind-the-scenes, never-before-seen photographs of cast, crew, sets, and styling, breaking the proverbial "fourth wall" for an extraordinary look inside the studio and into the lives of the show's stars.
The New Orleans signing will take place on Thursday, March 24, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Barnes & Noble at 3721 Veterans Boulevard Metairie, LA 70002. In addition to star Reynolds and authors Meng and Campbell, cast members appearing in New Orleans include super-couple Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell, starring as a recently reunited "Bo" and "Hope," Arianne Zucker ("Nicole"), James Scott ("EJ"), Shawn Christian ("Daniel"), Joe Mascolo ("Stefano"), Casey Deidrick ("Chad"), and former cast member and author Deidre Hall, who is promoting her healthy lifestyle book "Deidre Hall's Kitchen Closeup." Former head writer Sheri Anderson's "Days of our Lives" novel, "A Secret in Salem," the first in a trilogy of books following characters who are no longer on the show, will also be available at the signing.
