David Sinclair of Peru, VT, Wins 2018 Eversource Hartford Marathon, Rachel Schilkowsky of Providence, RI, Wins Women's Race
Connecticut runners finished first in Eversource Hartford Half Marathon races: Donn Cabral of Hartford takes the overall and Annmarie Tuxbury of New Hartford wins the women's race
HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The 25th running of the Eversource Hartford Marathon was won in 2:18:23 by David Sinclair of Peru, VT. Rachel Schilkowsky of Providence, RI, won the women's race in 2:41:03 in her first marathon, qualifying to run in the Olympic Marathon Trials. The podium for both races was swept by runners in the New England's Finest regional elite program which provides extra prize money and is supported by the Hartford Marathon Foundation and New England Runner magazine.

2:30:27 Eric Macknight, 29, Saratoga Springs, NY
2:30:44 Kevin Hoyt, 28, Newtown, CT
Top five women's marathon winners are:
2:41:03 Rachel Schilkowsky, 26, Providence, RI
2:43:46 Karen Bertasso, 34, Albany, NY
2:46:39 Kate Pallardy, 33, New York, NY
2:51:39 Alexandra Conway, 25, Boston, MA
2:53:58 Allison Goldstein, 32, Jersey City, NJ
The Eversource Hartford Half Marathon was won in 1:05:37 by two-time Olympian Donn Cabral of Hartford, who went to Glastonbury High School and currently attends UConn Law School. Kiplangat Terer of Kenya took second in 1:05:46 and John Busque of Manchester took third in 1:05:52.
Annmarie Tuxbury of New Hartford, had a personal best by about 3 minutes to win the women's field of the half marathon in 1:14:19 in an Olympic Marathon Trial qualifier. Hilary Dionne, of Charlestown, MA, came in second place with a time of 1:15:39. Heather Cappello of Brighton, MA, took third place in 1:17:42. The top three women are all members of the New England's Finest field.
The Charity 5K at the Eversource Hartford Marathon was won by Ben Groleau of Northampton, MA, with a time of 14:54. Christopher Helminski, of Hartford, took second in 15:31 and Nick Blanchard, of Portland, took third in 16:15.
In the women's 5K race, Elizabeth Fengler, of Wallingford, set a personal best to win with a time of 18:24. Sara Buckley of Slingerlands, NY, took second place in 18:35. Katrina Vassallo, of Peabody, MA, who placed second in the 2017 race, came in third place with a time of 18:37.
