Carr-Locke is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Leading Gastroenterologist of 2018-2019 in the field of Medicine in recognition of his role as Clinical Director for the Center for Advanced Digestive Care New York-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
For more than 40 years, Dr. David L. Carr-Locke has been an international leader in the field of therapeutic endoscopy. Throughout the course of his illustrious career, Dr. Carr-Locke served as Director of the Endoscopy Institute at the Brigham & Women's Hospital. Most recently serving as the Chief for the Division of Digestive Diseases and the Associate Chair of Medicine at Mount Sinai-Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Carr-Locke has attained extensive experience in the Clinical Applications Of Gastro- Intestinal Endoscopy for Diagnosis and Therapy.
While pursuing his educational endeavors, Dr. Carr-Locke earned his medical degree from Cambridge University in England. Thereafter, Dr. Carr-Locked completed his residency at Kettering General Hospital and Leicester Hospitals and his senior residency at the University of Leicester. Dr. Carr-Locke would complete his clinical research fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
To further enhance his professional development, Dr. Carr-Locke is an esteemed fellow of several prominent organizations including R.C.P. where he serves as President, I.H.P.B.A. where he serves as Chairman of the Technology Assessment Committee, Executive Council of The American Hepato- Pancreato- Billary Association, and Past Treasurer of the Endoscopy Committee of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
In recognition of his many professional accolades, Dr. Carr-Locke was the honorary recipient of several awards including the highest award conferred by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Carr-Locke has been listed in New York Magazine's "Best Doctors" annual list since 2010 and on Castle Connelly's America's Top Doctors since 2000.
A respected lecturer and scholar that authored or co-authored more than 300 published papers, articles and book chapters, many of which have influenced teaching in endoscopy, Dr. Carr-Locke is sought after for his extensive knowledge in the field.
When he is not working, Dr. Carr-Locke enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and playing classical guitar.
