David Breazzano, President of DDJ Capital Management, Inducted Into Johnson at Cornell University's Hall of Honor
WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DDJ Capital Management, LLC, a manager of high yield and special situations investments for institutional investors, is pleased to announce that its co-founder and president, David Breazzano, has been inducted into Cornell University's Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management Hall of Honor.
Breazzano, who received his MBA from Johnson in 1980 and has more than 32 years of investment management experience, co-founded DDJ Capital Management in 1996. DDJ is a value-oriented, bottom-up credit manager specializing in high yield bonds, bank loans and special situations investing. The firm manages approximately $5 billion in assets as of December 31, 2012 for U.S. and non-U.S. clients, including corporate, government and union pension plans, endowments and foundations, and also serves as a sub-adviser to mutual funds in the U.S. and internationally.
Induction into the Hall of Honor is the highest form of recognition that can be bestowed on a member of the Johnson community. The award pays tribute to those who have been the most generous supporters of the school with their financial support, as leaders and through their dedicated service in strengthening the school.
"I am thrilled to receive this honor from my alma mater," said Breazzano, who also serves on Johnson's Advisory Council. "I was very fortunate to obtain an excellent post-undergraduate education at Johnson, and I am happy to give back in any way I can."
"Induction into Johnson's Hall of Honor is how my office thanks and recognizes those who have been very committed to the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management," said Soumitra Dutta, Johnson's dean. "In addition to his very successful career in asset management, Dave has been a strong advocate and supporter for Johnson, and we are deeply grateful."
Prior to co-founding DDJ, Breazzano was a vice president and portfolio manager at Fidelity Investments' high income group, a vice president and portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price Associates, and earlier, a high yield analyst at First Investors Asset Management.
DDJ's high yield and special situations strategies, which target investment opportunities primarily in the lower tier of the high yield universe, rank in the 6th and 3rd percentiles, respectively, for the three-year period ending September 30, 2012, according to eVestment Alliance, a leading source of investment performance for institutional investors.
