Braun will join a panel discussion titled, "Best Practices in Electricity Purchasing…Using Heat Rate and Block and Index Contracts to Take Advantage of the Shale Gas Boom." The session will be held at 1:45 p.m.
"The unprecedented flood of natural gas into the domestic market is creating some new opportunities – and new risks – that Ohio buyers should be aware of when procuring power," Braun explained. "Our goal is to help consumers understand how those factors can influence cost and consumption, while providing viable options to consider before entering into their next energy contract."
Braun has over two decades of experience in the energy and utilities industry, including 14 years in deregulated electricity and natural gas markets across the United States. In addition to his presentation, the conference will also feature best practices, case studies, and instructional sessions on topics such as energy savings, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and funding and incentives for energy-efficiency projects.
The 7th Annual Northern Ohio Energy Management Conference is being presented jointly by Industrial Energy Users-Ohio, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Smaller Enterprises, and the Manufacturers' Education Council. GDF SUEZ Energy Resources is also one of the event's sponsors.
