Braun, who has more than two decades of experience in the energy and utilities industry, oversees commercial, industrial, and institutional retail electricity sales in MISO and PJM for the company. He will speak as part of a panel discussion titled, "Electricity Purchasing…Using Heat Rates and Block and Index Contracts to Take Advantage of the Shale Gas Boom." The session will be held at 1:45 p.m. at the Hilton Harrisburg & Towers.
"The continued development of the Marcellus and Utica shale plays is driving a number of clean-burning energy opportunities for Pennsylvania commercial and industrial electricity buyers," explained Braun. "With this unprecedented flood of natural gas in the domestic market, businesses are wise to evaluate their energy management strategy and consider options such as heat rates and block and index products before making their next purchasing decision."
In addition to Braun's presentation, the conference will also feature best practices, case studies, and instructional sessions on topics such as energy savings, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and funding and incentives for energy-efficiency projects.
The 2012 Pennsylvania Energy Management Conference is being presented jointly by the Industrial Energy Consumers of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Foundry Association, and the Manufacturers' Education Council in conjunction with Pennsylvania Manufacturing – Industrial Resource Center Network.
