Dave Koz Joins Daniel Pearl World Music Days Honorary Committee
Inviting Musicians Worldwide to Participate in the 9th Annual World Music Days throughout October 2010
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Daniel Pearl Foundation today announced that Dave Koz, platinum-selling recording artist, radio host, humanitarian and entrepreneur, has joined the Honorary Committee of Daniel Pearl World Music Days in a call for musicians around the world to take part in a global network of concerts that unite people around their common humanity.
"Having known Danny since we were both kids," explained Dave, "it's indeed a deep honor for me to be involved in this wonderful organization, helping keep his spirit alive through the medium he loved most. Music has a way of stirring the soul in ways that words can't...so it's not surprising, yet still so inspiring, to see Daniel's message of love and tolerance connect all over the world through the gift of music. He'd be so proud."
The Daniel Pearl World Music Days is an awareness-raising initiative to unite people around their common humanity. Musicians of all genres may take part in this worldwide event through a simple registration of their performances at www.danielpearlmusicdays.org, which will confirm their participation and promote their events. Once registered, participation entails making a brief dedication from the stage, or in the printed program, in support of the theme of "Harmony for Humanity."
"We are deeply honored to have Dave Koz on our Honorary Committee," said Judea Pearl, father of Daniel Pearl and President of the Daniel Pearl Foundation. "Danny's love of music embraced all genres and he used the power of music to bridge differences. Dave has participated in Daniel Pearl World Music Days since its inception and has fostered the participation of many artists. Since 2002, over 5,000 concerts in 103 countries have participated in this program, honoring our son's passion for connecting people through words and music."
