Dave & Buster's Marks 50th Anniversary Of Star Trek With New One-Of-A-Kind Collectible

DALLAS, Aug. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave & Buster's, the premier dining and entertainment venue, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek television series by offering a limited edition collectible card, featuring images of the classic Enterprise NCC-1701 and the ship's original crew. The one-of-kind card uses lenticular imagery which creates a movement effect as the image is viewed from different angles. The only way fans can get the card is to play Dave & Buster's new, exclusive Star Trek arcade game from Sept. 8 to Sept. 11.

"Our Star Trek arcade game has been a runaway hit with fans of the franchise from the 1960s TV series all the way up through the latest movies," said Kevin Bachus, senior vice president of Entertainment & Games strategy at Dave & Buster's. "This collectible card boldly goes where few others have gone before to commemorate the occasion, and provides us with an opportunity to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary with Trekkies and gaming fans alike."

The game, introduced in July, is a unique collaboration with amusement technology manufacturer Elaut NV, available exclusively at Dave & Buster's locations. Players control a mechanical arm to launch metal tokens at a pile of tokens, chips and collectable Star Trek cards. Chips and cards knocked off the ledge can be picked up and redeemed for prizes. In addition to the limited edition card, the first set of eight character cards, available through October 2016, feature Star Trek legends from the 1960s TV series, including Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Sulu, and a rare card featuring the Tribbles. Each card is also available in a limited, foil-enhanced version, redeemable for even bigger prizes.
