Dauphin County Man Wins $100,000 from PA Lottery Instant Game
LEBANON, Pa., Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thomas Leedom, of Middletown, Dauphin County, won $100,000 from the Pennsylvania Lottery's Merry Millionaire holiday instant game.
Lottery Area Manager Scott Kauffman today presented a ceremonial check to Leedom and his fiancée, Arlene, at the Giant Food Store on Bowman Street in Lebanon, where the ticket was purchased.
"We dropped our son off at his grandparents, and we were going Black Friday shopping," said Leedom, who works as a warehouse manager. "Before heading to the stores, we cashed in some Lottery tickets. I thought, why not take one more chance and try to win a little extra cash to go shopping."
Leedom and his fiancee plan to use their winnings toward a down payment on a new home.
Introduced in November, Merry Millionaire offered four top prizes of $1 million and four second prizes of $100,000. There are no remaining top prizes for Merry Millionaire, and only one $100,000 prize is still unclaimed. The odds of winning a top or second prize in this $20 game are 1-in-480,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-3.26.
