DataMotion Provides Direct Secure Messaging and Email Encryption Technology for ADA 2016
For Third Year, HISP's Technology to Support Demos on Secure Exchange of Digital Images and Data for Dental Practices
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DataMotion™, an experienced email encryption and health information service provider (HISP), today announced its Direct Secure Messaging (DataMotion Direct) and SecureMail services will again be participating as the technology backbone for demonstrations during ADA 2016. This is the third consecutive year DataMotion will provide the technology for the event's secure exchange of digital images and patient records between dentists, dental specialists, other healthcare entities and patients themselves. Matt Signorello, director of operations and support at DataMotion, will be a featured speaker. ADA 2016, America's Dental Meeting, is the industry's premier annual event - attended by thousands of dentists and dental professionals - and will be held at the Colorado Convention Center on October 20 - 24 in Denver, CO.
DataMotion's technology will support demos during the course "Live from Denver! It's Secure Exchange of Dental Data," conducted multiple times to provide continuing educational credit for dentists and ADA 2016 participants. DataMotion Direct and DataMotion SecureMail will be used to illustrate simple, secure dental data exchange focusing on the live exchange of dental records between EMR systems. The demonstrations will show how using a third-party HISP provides the security, authentication and encryption needed to meet Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. The Course Team will be led by Gregory G. Zeller, DDS, MS, associate dean for institutional effectiveness and professor at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Dr. Zeller also chairs the ADA Standards Committee for Dental Informatics and leads other standards development activities.
"As an advocate for the use of secure messaging technology in dental practices, we are encouraged by the continued interest in this session, and by the rapid adoption by the dental community of this technology," said Dr. Zeller. "Without question, it serves the dental patient better by improving care communications, protecting their personal information, and elevating practice efficiency. As a recognized provider of secure and private messaging services to the dental industry, DataMotion is, for the third consecutive year, an instrumental member of the team at the ADA Annual Session demonstrating standards-based interoperability through multi-vendor 'real world' demonstrations of dental data exchange."
In this course, Dr. Zeller and the Course Team will show attendees how to:
- Evaluate digital EHR and imaging system features for successful exchange of images and data;
- Improve methods for securely exchanging and transmitting digital patient images and data, including CAD-CAM files; and
- Use consensus accredited standards-based criteria for sharing of patient images and EHR data among vendor systems.
"Live from Denver! It's Secure Exchange of Dental Data" is planned for four different time slots (ET): Nov. 5 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (No. 5901) and 2:00-4:00 p.m. (No. 5911), and Nov. 6 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (No. 6901) and 2:00-4:00 p.m. (No. 6911).
DataMotion and its reseller partners offer comprehensive secure messaging services for dentistry, including both DataMotion Direct and DataMotion SecureMail. DataMotion Direct offers easy-to-use data transfer capabilities for "real-world" healthcare communications that conform to HIPAA regulations, including secure email for sending and receiving PHI, discharge and referral documents and large images for both in and out-of-network communications. DataMotion SecureMail is a comprehensive set of HIPAA compliant email encryption services for exchanging sensitive health information with providers, partners, patients, payers and more.
"Our goal at DataMotion is to deliver secure health information where and when it's needed most, making health care better, more accessible and affordable," said Signorello. "Exchanging dental images in a secure, interoperable manner is a frequent request of our dental customers, and we can make this as simple as sending an email."
