FLORHAM, N.J., June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DataMotion (www.datamotion.com), a health information service provider (HISP) with more than 15 years of experience in secure data delivery services, today announced the appointment of Kathleen Ridder Crampton to its Board of Directors. The company selected Crampton – a well-known executive with more than 30 years of successful management experience in healthcare – to help facilitate its continued rapid growth in the industry.
"Less than two years ago, DataMotion applied its long history in secure data delivery and work in healthcare to expand operations by becoming a HISP, and the growth that has followed is exceeding our highest expectations," said Bob Bales, CEO DataMotion. "Kathleen Ridder Crampton is known for her leadership in healthcare. With the industry focused on adoption of electronic health records (EHR) – with an emphasis on secure, 'real world' communications that will produce better patient outcomes – her expertise will enable us to keep pace with growth and further enhance our leadership position."
Added Crampton: "In a very short time, DataMotion has emerged as one of the leading HISPs. Already, nearly half of all EHR systems achieving 2014 ONC-ACB certification have done so using DataMotion Direct secure messaging service, enabling their providers to attest for Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2) and qualify for financial incentives. What distinguishes the company is their legacy in secure data delivery with proven industry expertise and technology already in place. I'm looking forward to working with this talented organization as they continue to grow and lead the way."
Crampton's record of success covers health insurance, hospital management, healthcare consulting, and involvement in early stage venture-funded companies. From 2009 to April 2014, she was president and CEO of United Healthcare of Florida, Inc. Community Plan (Florida Plan). A wholly owned subsidiary of United HealthCare Group - a Fortune 20 company - the Florida Plan is one of the largest providers of managed care services to the Medicaid population in Florida. She has also held President and CEO positions with Centene Corporation: Managed Health Services of Wisconsin and Buckeye Community Health Plan of Ohio.
Earlier in her career, Crampton held executive posts with such leading names as PriceWaterhouse Coopers, HealthTech Services, Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan, Boston Children's Hospital Medical Center and Brigham and Women's Hospital. She has received numerous honors, most recently being chosen the Commonwealth Foundation 2014 Outstanding Woman Leader in Florida. Crampton graduated from Boston University with a BA in American History, received an MPH in Public Health from Harvard University, and earned a MBA in Finance from George Washington University.
