Datameer Expands Leadership Team to Continue Significant Global Growth
New CMO and VP of Global Business Development & Channels Add Disruptive BI Technology Experience to Datameer's Stellar Leadership Team
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Datameer, the leaders behind the proven self-service big data insights platform for rapid data discovery, today announced the addition of chief marketing officer, Lance Walter, and VP of global business development & channels, Mark Ferretti, to help support its tremendous growth.
The big data market is expected to continue to grow at a tremendous rate, with MarketsandMarkets forecasting that the industry will reach $46.34 billion by 2018. Datameer is well positioned to be the leader in this space with its superior global big data analytics solution, fast-growing customer base and deep industry and technology expertise.
The company recently closed $40 million in funding led by ST Telemedia (STT) and Top Tier Capital Partners (TTCP), with participation from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), Redpoint, Next World Capital, Software AG and Citi Ventures.
"Lance and Mark both personify our company values of being disruptive, having a passion for impact, valuing our customer's success as much as our own, and having the integrity and focus to get things done," said Stefan Groschupf. "With their help, we will continue to lead and democratize the big data analytics space."
Lance is responsible for global marketing and communications and joins Datameer from Host Analytics, a leading cloud financial applications company, where he helped the company to grow new Annual Recurring Revenue at more than 120%. He brings relevant experience in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, having joined Pentaho as employee number 12 and helped the company grow to more than 600 customers. Before that, Lance served as vice president of product marketing for Business Objects, as the company grew revenue from $460 million to well over $1 billion prior to its acquisition by SAP. Earlier in his career, Lance held technical, product management, and marketing roles at Siebel Systems, Hyperion Solutions, and Oracle Corp.
"I'm a huge fan of Datameer's disruptive approach in the big data market and I'm excited to be a part of a global team that is spearheading the next generation of big data analytics," said Lance Walter, CMO at Datameer.
Mark will oversee the development and expansion of Datameer's network of alliances and partners on a global scale. His 25 years experience in accelerating growth of channel teams and revenue at such companies as Business Objects, Cognos (IBM) and Qliktech will solidify Datameer's channel program in North America and establish successful programs in Latin America and APAC.
"Datameer has an incredible combination of a great product, great culture and a true commitment to positively impacting the world with big data analytics," said Mark Ferretti, vice president of global business development & channels at Datameer. "Partnerships represent a major opportunity to bring this value to the larger network and further make big data analytics accessible and affordable for companies of all sizes."
