Datacert Awarded ISO 27001 Certification

ISO 27001 is the global standard for the establishment and certification of an ISMS.  The standard includes a clearly-defined set of requirements for establishing, operating, and maintaining an ISMS and prescribes a risk-based approach around the controls necessary to protect an organization's information assets.  Datacert's ISO 27001 certification pertains to the company's IT facility at its Houston, Texas, headquarters where it centrally manages all of its clients' hosted solutions.

The three-stage process for achieving ISO 27001 certification begins with an accredited certification organization performing a pre-assessment of the target company's existing policies and internal framework to determine its readiness for compliance.  Next, a thorough policy and process review is conducted onsite at the company.  The final phase, which determines whether certification is granted, includes in-depth, onsite testing to confirm that the ISMS framework has been properly implemented and is being maintained according to the standard.

Datacert's ISO 27001 certification, which can be reviewed here, was granted in February by BrightLine, a leading and accredited provider of assurance and compliance services.  Certification is valid for three years, during which time onsite inspections are periodically performed to ensure that compliance remains ongoing.
