Darrell B. Jackson Elected Chairman of the Illinois Bankers Association
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., June 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) announced that Darrell B. Jackson has been elected Chairman for 2015-2016. He was elected at the IBA's 124th Annual Conference at the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette and Peoria Civic Center on June 18. Jackson is President and CEO of Seaway Bank and Trust Company in Chicago.
Jackson previously served as Executive Vice President, Personal Financial Services – Illinois for The Northern Trust Company as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Trust Company's Illinois West Suburban Region and Senior Vice President and Division Manager in Private Banking.
He is a career banker with nearly 35 years of experience in the industry. His exposure to banking began at South Shore Bank while attending college locally. After working at South Shore Bank, he moved to Harris Bank where he spent 14 years in commercial and private banking. Darrell received a B.A. degree from St. Xavier University in Chicago, and an M.B.A. degree from the Kellogg Executive Masters Program at Northwestern University.
Jackson has served on numerous IBA committees and boards, including the Education Advisory Committee, ILLINOIS BANKPAC Board, Government Relations Committee, Illinois BancService Corp Board and Strategic Planning Committee.
He is the Chairman of The Morton Arboretum and serves on the board of the Kellogg Alumni Council of Northwestern University and the 100 Club of Chicago. He is also a member of the Union League Club and The Chicago Club.
He is a former Board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, The Chicago Child Care Society, The Cosmopolitan Chamber of Commerce, The Children's Inner City Educational Fund, the Dave Duerson Foundation, ETA Creative Arts Foundation, Inc., Junior Achievement of Chicago, The Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Conservation Foundation, the Executives Breakfast Club of Oak Brook and St. Xavier University.
Jackson received the Father John Phelps Humanitarian of the Year Award from Life Directions in 2014 and The Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Award from The Boys and Girls Club of Chicago in 2004. He was also voted one of the 40 leaders of color by Chicago United in 2003.
