Daniel Sontupe, SVP, Director of Market Access, at The CementBloc, to Present on Uncovering the Value in a Patient Support Program at CBI Summit
NEW YORK, June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Daniel Sontupe, SVP, Director Market Access, at The CementBloc, will be presenting his expertise on the value of patient support programs at CBI's 5th Bio/Pharmaceutical Summit on Managed Care Marketing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 20, 2012.
The conference is a two-day symposium designed for senior-level pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals seeking to understand which payers are most valuable and what messages and value propositions drive decision makers in order to maximize market access. Mr. Sontupe will be presenting the basics of analyzing and developing a multifaceted patient support program in his talk entitled, "Uncovering the Value in a Patient Support Program." Mr. Sontupe will bring to the symposium his unique expertise in determining what needs to be developed to create a successful patient support program that eases the clutter in the prescriber's office.
"The pharmaceutical reimbursement and market access challenge continues to expand for pharmaceutical marketers and today spreads well beyond health plans and employers," says Mr. Sontupe. "As the Supreme Court debates the validity of the Affordable Care Act, we need to develop varied ways to help healthcare professionals navigate this ever-changing space and help ensure patients access to the appropriate therapies."
At The CementBloc, Mr. Sontupe oversees the market access team, responsible for helping craft both payer-facing and HCP-facing strategies and tactics to tackle health plan coverage and product reimbursement issues. Dan has spent nearly 20 years navigating the managed markets, beginning his career as an analyst and manager at Medco (now part of Express Scripts) and as a product manager and director at Sanofi-Aventis and Watson Pharmaceuticals, respectively. Dan and his team are constantly developing new ways to communicate a drug's value to the payer while at the same time supporting the HCP's need to be knowledgeable and resourced to negotiate the process on behalf of their patients for delivery of appropriate treatments and associated reimbursement support.
