BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS -- Powermat, the global leader in wireless energy, today announced the appointment of Daniel Schreiber to the position of President.
The appointment of Mr. Schreiber coincides with several recent high-profile announcements from Powermat including a commercial agreement with General Motors to eliminate the need for charging cords in future GM products by embedding Powermat technology into automobiles. Other settings that will be wirelessly enabled include airports and offices as well as home environments.
Prior to joining Powermat, Mr. Schreiber served in a variety of executive roles at SanDisk, the global leader in flash memory cards (Nasdaq: SNDK), including Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) Division.
As Senior Vice President and General Manager of SanDisk's Audio-Video Business Unit, Mr. Schreiber oversaw the growth of SanDisk's Sansa MP3 player to the number two position globally, behind Apple's iPod.
