Dr. Ridout taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate Hospital for twelve years prior to his assuming his teaching role at Crozer Chester Medical Center for seventeen years. Here, Dr. Ridout was responsible for teaching, guiding and mentoring residents and minority-premedical students every year the moral and ethical duties as an attending physician.

Early in his career, Dr. Ridout attained his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati and attained Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In his previous years, Dr. Ridout attained his Bachelor of Art degree in Music Composition and Orchestration from Dartmouth College. Dr. Ridout conducted his internship in Internal Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate Hospital where he also completed his Residency.
It is no surprise that Dr. Ridout's long-standing, successful career comes with several professional licensures and certifications that he has culminated throughout the years. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Delaware, California, Virginia, New Mexico and Arizona, Dr. Ridout holds certifications in Advanced Trauma and Life Support, Advanced Cardiac and Life Support, Endoscopic Laser Therapy, and Endoscopic Ultrasonography Training.
In an effort to further enhance his professional development, Dr. Ridout is an elite member of several organizations including the Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; the American Gastroenterological Association; American Professional Practice Association; American Medical Association; Pennsylvania Medical Society; Philadelphia County Medical Society; New Castle County Medical Society; Medical Society of Delaware; Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania; Delaware County Medical Society; American Society of Internal Medicine; Crohns and Colitis Foundation; Delaware County Medical Society; and Virginia Medical Society. In addition, Dr. Ridout has served as a Fellow with the American College of Physicians.

An extraordinary career filled with several professional accolades, Dr. Ridout was named in Who's Who in America, Top 101 Industry Experts in 2012, and the recipient of the Achievement and Service in Medicine Award from the African American Historical Society of Delaware. Dr. Ridout has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of African American Museum and Historical Society of Delaware, inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Physicians in 2005, and inducted as a Fellow in the American Gastroenterological Association.
An active philanthropist interested in the arts and music, Dr. Ridout has been active in the preservation of the arts for many years. Involved with the Arts Council Eastern Shore of Virginia Advisory Board where he utilizes a community- based business model for new ventures at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Dr. Ridout administers enhanced methods of efficiency, profitability and cost effective, quality healthcare.
When he is not working, Dr. Ridout enjoys listening to music, boating, choral singing, and conducting choirs.
