SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Future plc today announced that Daniel Dawkins has been promoted to Global Editor in Chief of its entertainment website, GamesRadar+, with immediate effect.
Daniel moves from 'Group Editor in Chief, Games UK' to 'Global Editor in Chief, GamesRadar+', replacing Sophia Tong, who herself moves to a new role at Future working on Creative Brand Strategy and Business Development within the Global Revenue team.
GamesRadar+ is a global entertainment website focusing on videogames, movies and TV, operating 24/7 with dedicated editorial teams based in London, Bath, San Francisco and Sydney. It relaunched in November 2014, and the site has seen exponential year-on-year growth and in December announced record breaking figures of 11.3 million unique users.
Daniel Dawkins, Global Editor in Chief of GamesRadar+, says, "I'm thrilled to be joining GamesRadar+ at this stage in its evolution and can't wait to work with our record breaking team on exciting plans for 2016 and beyond. We're focused on delivering the sharpest news, features and opinion on the world's greatest games, TV and films. Our leisure time is precious, and GamesRadar+ will take you closer to the moments that matter: from wild Star Wars: Episode VIII conspiracy theories to Fallout 4's ocean-floor secrets. Y'know, the important stuff. I look forward to seeing you and can't wait to continue the conversation on GamesRadar+."
Nial Ferguson, Future's Content and Marketing Director, says, "We are delighted to have Dan as the new Global Editor in Chief of GamesRadar+ at what is an extremely exciting time for the brand. Dan's work to date with the UK's games division has been exceptional, and he was the natural person to continue to drive GamesRadar+ forward.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sophia for her four years on GamesRadar+. She signs off having seen GamesRadar+ deliver consecutive record-breaking traffic months."
