Dancing with the Stars' Celebrity Hosts ABC TV Megahit Show Public Viewing and Leads the LaBlast Dance Event in Support of AdMeTech Foundation's Dance for a Cure of Prostate Cancer

WHAT: If you like watching Dancing with the Stars, join its professional cast member Louis van Amstel who will host a public viewing of the ABC TV hit show on Monday, April 9 in support of the AdMeTech Foundation's Dance for a Cure of Prostate Cancer. Earlier in the evening, Mr. van Amstel will lead the LaBlast Dance Class – an exercise program he created in order to bring great fun to rigorous fitness. Mr. van Amstel supports AdMeTech Foundation's mission to create "Manogram" so that men with prostate cancer will have accurate diagnostic tools akin to life-saving mammograms for women with breast cancer. Even though prostate cancer can be cured when detected early, an American man dies every 16 minutes. Prostate cancer is the most common and the second most lethal malignancy in men. This event is presented by the Belmont-based Avalon Dance Studio.
WHO: Louis van Amstel is a three-time world champion of Latin Ballroom dance and a veteran professional cast member of Dancing with the Stars. Mr. van Amstel choreographed and/or appeared on multiple TV shows, including the Fox TV hit "So You Think You Can Dance." He coached Karina Smirnoff, Tony Dovolani, Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy who later joined him as fellow cast members of Dancing with the Stars. Dr. Faina Shtern is a President of AdMeTech Foundation who established Dance for a Cure as a public awareness campaign to end the prostate cancer crisis. In the 90s, she served as a Chief of the Diagnostic Imaging Research Branch at the National Cancer Institute where she led development of the contemporary breast cancer imaging. Mr. Russel Jackson is a founder of the Avalon Dance Studio located in Belmont, Massachusetts.
