Dance and Do Good at the 9th Annual Bollywood Club Invasion Dance Party in Santa Fe
Family-friendly dance festival benefits multiple local charitable activities.
SANTA FE, N.M., Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Amma Center of New Mexico announced that its annual Bollywood Club Invasion fundraiser -- Santa Fe's best dance party -- will be held at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, located at 201 W. Marcy Street, on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 6:30 pm until midnight. Proceeds will benefit multiple Amma Center of New Mexico local relief initiatives, including The Burrito Project, which offers free meals to more than 108 homeless or needy individuals in Santa Fe every Sunday. Since 1996, The Burrito Project has served over 110,000 lunches. The project also sponsors and prepares meals for St. Elizabeth's and Casa la Familia shelters.
This year's Bollywood Club Invasion will again feature Bollywood-inspired live DJ mixes, dancing, and vibrant entertainment. Celebrated local favorite DJ Dynamite Sol, along with DJs Shobanon and Aztech Sol, will fill the evening with eastern and western dance rhythms. Agramzu's signature multimedia display, featuring Bollywood dance videos, will light the dance floor. A free Bollywood dance class will be offered at 7 pm, and Myra Krien and the Mosaic Dance Company's Pomegranate Dancers will perform dances throughout the evening.
"This annual Bollywood Club Invasion Dance Party is a cool dynamic for a community event," said DJ Dynamite Sol. "The whole idea to raise money for people in need that also allows me to rock a party...I'm always down for that. This is one of my favorite events of the year."
In addition to dancing, Bollywood Club Invasion Dance Party features a variety of fun and family-friendly activities. Participants can shop in an east-meets-west clothing bazaar, and henna tattoo and astrology and tarot readings will be available. There will also be an array of delicious food from award-winning local restaurant, Jambo Cafe, including desserts and traditional Indian chai. Admission at the door is $15 per person ($7 for children under 12 years of age). Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BollywoodClubInvasion for event news and updates.
