Dana Exhibits Advanced Cooling Solutions for New Energy Vehicles at PCIM Europe 2015
MAUMEE, Ohio, May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) will highlight its robust portfolio of thermal-management solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles at the Power Conversion and Intelligent Motion (PCIM) Europe exhibition, May 19-21 in Nurnberg, Germany. Among Dana's customizable technologies will be the company's Long® brand of aluminum integrated cooling plates, which ensure the performance and reliability of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) switches.
Dana's IGBT technology, which went into production at the beginning of the year, was created to match the demands of hybrid and electric vehicles. These cooling plates provide customers with a lightweight, contaminant-free, and cost-effective heat transfer solution. In addition to its IGBT cooling devices, Dana will be exhibiting its battery cooling plates and cooling chillers, which address challenging space requirements and enable consistent operating temperatures, long-lasting batteries, and greater efficiency. A sub-cooled loop, low-temperature battery radiator will also be on-site.
Beyond showcasing its advanced solutions that assist OEMs in gaining vehicle efficiencies and improving performance, Dana will participate in the Exhibitor Forum in Hall 7-260 from 10:20 to 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, May 21. Meinrad Machler, a senior engineer at Dana, will give insight into recent advancements in the cooling of IGBTs and lithium-ion batteries.
"As a world leader in supplying highly engineered thermal-management technologies, we enjoy getting opportunities like this to discuss our innovations and progress in the market with others in the industry," said Dwayne Matthews, president of Dana's Power Technologies Group. "Dana's IGBT coolers are one of our newest heat transfer solutions and represent another way we are able to create differentiated, custom-tailored technologies that meet industry specifications and customer needs."
Dana's extensive range of hybrid-engine cooling options will be on display at Booth 6-102 at the NurnbergMesse.
