Dana A. Brown is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Security Services.
ALLEN, Texas, Aug. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- /Continental Who's Who/ -- Dana A. Brown is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Security Services as a result of his role as President of National Security Associates Worldwide, a company offering National Security and Business Consulting Services.
In his current position with National Security Associates Worldwide, Dana specializes in Business Development; Management; Complex Criminal Investigations; Executive Protection Operations; Protective Intelligence; Inspections and Audits; as well as Crisis and Consequence Management.
Prior to his career with National Security Associates Worldwide, Dana joined the Secret Service after stints in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam and won the Purple Heart, and the Fairfax County Police Department from 1972 to 1976. During his career in the Secret Service, Dana guarded former President Gerald Ford and was on President Ronald Reagan's protective detail from 1985 to 1986. He culminated his career there as assistant director and chief financial officer in the Office of Administration.
In 2002, Dana transferred to the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) as its director. FAMS had vastly expanded in the immediate wake of 9/11 and was experiencing severe personnel and morale difficulties. Looking to enhance spirits, Dana began a campaign of listening to the people on the front lines and – notably – to their families, with whom he scheduled regular Thursday night dinners. He listened to all the people serving in FAMS, from the mission support people to the supervisors to the marshals who were staying overnight in the Washington, DC, area and he visited offices. Under his directorship, morale and working conditions improved. This increase in morale would serve to be integral in the face of two emergency situations in 2006 including the evacuation of US citizens from Lebanon upon the outbreak of war between Israel and Hezbollah, and in August, when British authorities discovered an Al Qaeda plot to blow up airplanes.
As further testament to Dana's professionalism and dedication to the security of United States, he presently maintains affiliation with the National Association of Chiefs of Police; American Society for Industrial Security; and the Association of Former Agents of the U.S. Secret Service.
