ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dan Marvin, Vice President of Business Development at Marvin Windows and Doors, has been elected to the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He will begin his three-year term on October 22, 2015.
Dan Marvin joined Marvin Windows and Doors, a family-owned and operated business based in Warroad, MN, in 1998 and is one of 11 fourth generation family members involved in the business today. In his time with the company he has held many positions within the organization and is looking forward to serving on the Minnesota Chamber's board to further promote business growth in the state.
"Marvin Windows and Doors has been a longtime member and supporter of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce because of the organization's commitment to improving the business environment in this state," says Marvin. "Through the work of the Chamber, our business is able to provide good and steady jobs that contribute to the vitality of our community and state. I am looking forward to joining the board so that I can contribute to policies and other initiatives that will continue to make our state a great place to live, work, and do business."
The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer board that represents businesses of all types and sizes across Minnesota. These business leaders who belong to the Chamber set public policy priorities for the business community, carry the message for the statewide business community to the State Capitol, and develop resources and strategies to ensure businesses in Minnesota can grow and succeed.
"Minnesota's economic performance continues to rank favorably among its peers. Much of the credit for this goes to Minnesota's great employers and employees," said Rick Trontvet, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Board Chair. "Their hard work and ingenuity drives change and growth. The Minnesota Chamber contributes by helping state leaders understand and adopt policies that make our cost of doing business more competitive. Minnesota isn't nearly as competitive for attracting new businesses and supporting current businesses as it needs to be, and yet the global economy makes this more urgent than ever. Making Minnesota competitive always drives the Chamber's agenda, and the agenda for 2016 will be no exception."
New officers and board members will formally begin their term at the Minnesota Chamber's Business Conference on Oct. 22, 2015 at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest. Marvin will be joining other Minnesota Chamber officers including: chair – Rick Trontvet, Digi-Key Electronics, Thief River Falls; chair-elect – Jill Renslow, Mall of America, Bloomington; secretary-treasurer – Todd Paulson, RTP Co., Winona; immediate past chair – Jan Kruchoski, CliftonLarsonAllen, Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Chamber is the state's largest business advocacy organization, representing approximately 2,300 businesses and more than a half-million employees. For more information on the Minnesota Chamber, visit www.mnchamber.com.
