Dallas Regional Chamber Proudly Announces 2010 ATHENA® Award Recipient Carol Roehrig
DALLAS, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Dallas Regional Chamber announces Carol Roehrig, President of BKM Total Office Texas, L.P., as the recipient of the 2010 ATHENA Award®. The ATHENA Award® is a national program that recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding role models and leaders. The presentation of the award will take place at the 2010 Women's Business Conference, October 14, at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (400 N. Olive St., Dallas, TX 75201).
The ATHENA® Award is open to individuals who strive toward the highest levels of professional accomplishment, excel in their chosen fields and devote time and energy to their community. The non-profit ATHENA Foundation has awarded more than 5,000 women in over 500 communities throughout the world. By honoring exceptional leaders, the ATHENA Award® Program seeks to inspire others to achieve excellence in their professional and personal lives.
The Dallas Regional Chamber is pleased to recognize Carol Roehrig for her outstanding leadership in both her professional achievements and community involvement. Carol moved to Dallas in 1995 to take over the then struggling business, BKM Total Office Solutions. Within 15 years, she and her business partner have grown the company to revenues of $45 million and more than 80 employees. The company has expanded into new markets including education and healthcare, has worked on high-profile projects such as the new Cowboys Stadium and Baylor Heart Hospital and ranks in the top twenty of DFW women-owned enterprises.
Carol's community involvement includes significant participation in the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Women's Business Council Southwest, Executive Women's Roundtable, and the International Women's Forum. She has previously served on the Steelcase National Dealer Council, Parkland Hospital Board, and the Dallas Center for Contemporary Arts Board.
While she and her company have supported many nonprofits throughout the DFW region, Carol has left her mark on the Dallas County Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She has been a member of the Board since 2006, and served as Board President in 2009. She was an integral part of the significant growth in the 2006 and 2007 Race for the Cure events where a 43% increase in race revenues was made.
