Dallas Police shooting leads to lawsuit against City of Dallas
DALLAS, Oct. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- David Harrison filed a lawsuit today as a result of his son Jason Sherard Harrison's death on June 14, 2014. The case filed in Federal Court alleges that the Dallas Police Department used excessive force when Dallas officers shot Jason Harrison repeatedly within two minutes of arriving at his home. The officers appeared at Jason Harrison's home in response to his mother's request for medical assistance for Jason.
The case was filed by Linda Turley of the Turley Law Firm in Dallas, Texas. Linda Turley stated, "hopefully this case will encourage the Dallas Police Department to reevaluate the use of force policy and provide additional training for dealing with the mentally ill."
