DALLAS, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- When the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) initially approached local moving companies to support its Food 4 Kids program, North Dallas Moving and Storage (NDMS) immediately volunteered as a corporate partner. Since the partnership began in September 2013, Dallas movers have helped provide more than 360,000 meals to chronically hungry children during the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 school years.

While free and reduced-price school lunches provide students with healthy meals on school days, Food 4 Kids ensures North Texas children won't go hungry on the weekends. The program supplies children in need with backpacks full of nutritious, nonperishable food each Friday afternoon during the school year. NDMS is one of two Dallas moving companies that help transport food from the North Texas Food Bank to warehouses that serve several local school districts.
"Thanks to local support from companies like North Dallas Moving and Storage, NTFB is able to provide critical nourishment to growing young minds and bodies," noted Courtney Bagot, Corporate Engagement Manager for the North Texas Food Bank. "Over the past two school years, our Dallas movers have collectively helped to distribute more than 91,000 Food 4 Kids backpacks containing over 360,000 meals."
Bagot reports that during the 2014/2015 school year, North Dallas Moving and Storage and Imlach Group's transport services enabled Food 4 Kids to serve an average of 1,800 chronically hungry and food-insecure children each week across more than 70 elementary schools throughout the Richardson, Plano and Allen independent school districts.
"As a locally owned and operated business, NDMS is committed to giving back to the communities we live and work in," said Brandon Morris, President of North Dallas Moving and Storage. "Our company wholeheartedly supports the North Texas Food Bank in their efforts to end childhood hunger. Kids need proper nutrition in order to thrive, both physically and academically. We're proud to play a role in bringing healthy meals to local students so they have a better chance to succeed."
In addition to participating in the NTFB Food 4 Kids program, NDMS also supports Move for Hunger by collecting and delivering donations of nonperishable foods from customers who have enlisted their moving services. The company has frequently been recognized for its commitment to customer service and long-standing tradition of excellence, earning an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, a Consumer's Choice Award and the United Van Lines Masters Club Award. Among its most recent distinctions, NDMS received the 2015 Best of Carrollton Award for top Carrollton moving services and was honored by United Van Lines for 40 years of service.
