DFW AIRPORT, Texas, Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Continuing to elevate the overall customer experience at DFW Airport, the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) Board today approved proposals for several new concessions contracts, highlighted by a beverage pouring rights and sponsorship pact awarded to The Coca-Cola Company. The Board also approved proposals for several food & beverage concepts new to DFW, including a Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant in Terminal C, a Rodeo Bar in Terminal B and a Belgium Beer Café kiosk in Terminal C. Additionally, the Board approved proposals for a 7-Eleven convenience store slated for Terminal D, a new Grove snack kiosk in Terminal B and a new vending contract for the entire Airport with Canteen Vending.
The new beverage contract for The Coca-Cola Company was approved today as the final step of a Request for Proposal (RFP) process that began in late 2015. The 10-year contract takes effect in March 2016 and will include Coca-Cola brands of bottled, canned, and prepackaged beverages at DFW Airport concessions, retail locations and some other concession facilities.
"Coca-Cola brings a global brand portfolio that we are confident will meet the needs of our customers," said Sean Donohue, CEO of DFW Airport. "At DFW we are focused on enhancing the choices available to customers at our Airport, and the comprehensive deal that Coca-Cola put together for DFW shows they share in our customer focus."
"All of us at Coca-Cola are excited that the more than 64 million people who visit the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport annually will soon travel refreshed with our broad portfolio of Coca-Cola products, including our wide range of low- and no-calorie beverages," said Mark Schortman, President of the Southwest Operating Unit for Coca-Cola Refreshments. "As with all our customers, we are ready to get to work providing the best products and best services to our latest valued customer and to all the travelers they touch."
As one of the most recognized brands in the world, Coca-Cola brings to DFW a comprehensive package of innovative technology, dedicated operations and cooperative marketing solutions. The DFW contract with Coca-Cola includes opportunities for collaborative marketing with Coca-Cola's national, regional, and local partners.
"We thank PepsiCo for the great service they have provided to DFW and to our customers as our primary provider since 1995," said Donohue.
Another highly anticipated new concept to DFW, Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant, will open inside Terminal C at Gate C16 by the end of the year. The proposal approved by the Board today includes a ten-year lease with STAR/MGO, LLC to operate the restaurant. Maggiano's Little Italy is a premium Brinker restaurant concept based on scratch-made Italian-American meals inspired by traditional recipes.
The Board also approved what will be a third 7-Eleven location for DFW, this one to be located inside Terminal D. Paradies LaGardere, Inc. will operate the new 7-Eleven under a ten-year lease term, with plans to open later this year. Last November, Paradies LaGardere, Inc. opened DFW's first 7-Eleven in Terminal A at Gate A22, and a second location is already planned for Terminal E. 7-Eleven is the world's largest convenience store chain with locations worldwide.
Another new concept the Board approved for DFW is the Rodeo Bar, to be operated by DFW Pop Restaurants, LLC in Terminal B at Gate B31. Rodeo Bar will offer a range of beer and wine selections under the terms of the nine-year lease.
Compass Group USA, Inc. was awarded the contract for snack vending services across the Airport, including all Terminals, selected administrative facilities and the Rental Car Facility. Compass Group USA, Inc. will deliver the service through its Canteen Vending Services Division.
Finally, the Airport Board also approved two temporary permits, one to Host International, Inc. to operate a Belgium Beer Café in Terminal C at Gate C14, and the other permit to Grove, Inc. operate a snack kiosk inside Terminal B at Gate B12.
