Dallas-Based MBL Title Leads Industry Revolution
With closings approaching $3 billion since 2015, high-profile hires and two new office locations, MBL Title is demonstrating how a small company can successfully compete against large agents and direct operations
DALLAS, Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MBL Title, an elite full-service title company, is navigating exceptional growth since long-time business partners Matthew Lopez and Jon Meyers founded the company in late 2014. Since 2015, the company has closed nearly $3 billion in transactions, a remarkable feat for an upstart. In just the last two months, MBL Title has added two new office locations, and expanded its team to include two well-reputed powerhouses in the Dallas title industry: Jennifer Haden, Senior Vice President of National Commercial Services, and Adam Rachavong, Senior Vice President and Commercial Closing Attorney. Both cite irresistible momentum and a culture that fosters professionalism and service as being prime motivators to join the team.
In less than three years, MBL Title has closed thousands of transactions. Most notably, the company closed its largest transaction, insured at $140 million, in May 2017, and is set to close its largest transaction to date, $190 million, in the first quarter of next year.
The company has also established a footprint in two of DFW's premier commercial real estate hot spots. Jennifer Haden will be at the helm of the new Uptown office at 1925 Cedar Springs Road, consisting of 4,500-square-feet of unique "statement" space, and Adam Rachavong will lead the newly minted Plano office, conveniently situated in the city's Historic Downtown District at 1022 East 15th Street.
"I'm thrilled to join the leadership of a team that has seen extraordinary success in such a short period of time, and the energy we have is really something you can feel," said Haden. "The new Uptown office puts us right in the middle of a thriving business district where many of our clients network and transact. I love MBL Title's approach to our customers—who are really more like dear friends or family members. I predict an industry shake up here because of that dynamic and anticipate even greater success for MBL and its clients going forward."
Haden joins MBL after 13 years with Republic Title's National Commercial Operations division. She has a track record of working with some of the highest profile names in real estate and handles sales and loans for all asset types including office buildings, land development, investment properties, multi-family, hotels, industrial and hospitals.
Title industry veterans such as Haden and Rachavong are highly sought after and MBL Title's addition of two such individuals in one summer has heads turning in the industry. Rachavong joins MBL Title from Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STG) where he spent the last 12 years closing over $8 billion in commercial, retail, industrial and multi-family transactions. Under Rachavong's measured eye, the Plano location will solidify the firm's presence in the northern quadrant of the Metroplex.
"MBL does things differently than the large national firms and is definitely garnering watchful eyes in the industry," said Rachavong. "I am proud to be part of a team that is leading the way in title innovation and growth. The larger firms in our business react to industry and technological changes more like the Titanic, whereas MBL Title is able to react like a nimble speed boat—and that's how we will ultimately make our mark on the industry. I'm excited to align with a firm that I believe will be the next progression and standard-bearer of our already impressive industry. I know we can improve upon the infrastructure built by the great Dallas title companies and leaders that have come before us."
"The organic growth of our business and clientele led us to open our new offices and allowed us to successfully recruit colleagues of Jennifer's and Adam's caliber," said Lopez. "It's a bold step for us to 'plant a flag' in the Uptown and Plano markets, but our clientele has grown with us and that's where many of them are located. These locations offer a better opportunity to serve our target market, collaborate with our clients and have a strong presence in the DFW business community. Our clients have clamored for more interaction with us, and this is one way we will be able to make that happen."
"MBL's approach to business is holistic," said co-founder Meyers. "Our team members have worked on every side of a real estate transaction and, because of our in-depth working knowledge of legal and financing structures, we have exceeded 50 percent annual revenue growth every year since our founding. But our success really is all about our team."
Lopez and Meyers are both Texas natives, long-time friends and graduates of Texas Christian University. Lopez received his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law and Cox School of Business, respectively. Meyers entered the private equity field becoming a partner at Suntex Ventures.
MBL Title maintains its original office space in North Dallas at Preston Road and Frankford Road as its corporate headquarters.
