Dallas Attorney Deborah Hankinson Earns Texas Lawyer Lifetime Achievement Award

DALLAS, Sept. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Widely respected Dallas lawyer Deborah Hankinson has earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the editors of Texas Lawyer in recognition of her career as a Texas Supreme Court justice and her instrumental role in providing legal aid to low-income Texans.

Now focused on alternative dispute resolution and appellate work, Ms. Hankinson was among the attorneys selected in 2016 who have made an indelible mark on the Texas legal profession. Ms. Hankinson served on the Texas 5th District Court of Appeals in Dallas, followed by the Texas Supreme Court, where she served from 1997-2002. While on the state's highest court, she helped establish the Texas Access to Justice Commission, which has enabled thousands of low-income Texans to obtain legal aid in civil matters.

Since re-entering private practice in 2003, Ms. Hankinson has solidified her position as one of the state's leading appellate lawyers as well as one of the most sought-after arbitrators and mediators in the country.
